Uk instant personal loan
PERSONAL FINANCE: SEARCH AND SAVE WWW.MYEQUIFAX.CO.UK
FROM TODAY Equifax, the credit reference agency, is upgrading the consumer end of its website to enable the public to gain instant access to the information lenders use to decide whether to make a loan.
This can be extremely useful, especially if you have been turned down or fear you might be. You can then check that the information is accurate, and if it is you can get a clear idea of what you have to put right to get a better loan deal.
The improvement comes at a price. One of the new credit reports will cost pounds 8.25 and will be available for 30 days, compared to the previous pounds 2 for a postal copy of the statutory return on your financial position.
But as Neil Munroe, the director in charge of the new site, points out: "We have to recoup our investment and we are providing a lot more value. And people have a choice. If they prefer the pounds 2 version, that is still available."
The trouble with the basic version, apart from having to wait for the post to arrive when you may be in the middle of arranging a mortgage, is that unless your record is completely clean it can be quite hard to read. It is full of code numbers, the meanings of which are not immediately clear.
In the pounds 8.25 edition, everything is spelled out, from your current loan arrangements to County Court judgments and even attempts to defraud you, if the latter have been logged by the lenders. There is also an instant facility for you to dispute whatever is on record, so undeserved slights can be sorted out much more quickly.
The new site also offers an improved version of the educational section it had been running.
