Paperless payday loan

HOUSTON -- FSV Payment Systems (FSV) announced today plans to launch an innovative new stored-value customer loyalty card program for check cashing chain, Moneytree Inc., beginning Oct. 13. The CashSolutions(TM) card will be offered to all Moneytree patrons at no charge, functioning as both a prepaid PIN debit card and customer identification, according to Eric Miller, chief executive officer for FSV.

"This card should prove a valuable financial tool for cardholders -- and one that does not involve acquisition or loading fees," said Miller. "The cardholder pays absolutely nothing to get it or to deposit funds to it anytime he or she cashes a check at Moneytree. The CashSolutions card represents a remarkable opportunity for Moneytree to drive repeat business and for their customers to better manage and track their spending."

FSV will pilot the CashSolutions loyalty card program in nine stores in the Spokane, Wash., market for approximately 90 days. During that time, they will be closely monitoring feedback they receive from Moneytree management and cardholders, in preparation for a chain-wide roll-out.

"We recognize that most of our check cashing customers do not have bank accounts and that, as a result, they often do not have access to basic financial services like check cards," said Joe Morris, vice president of research and development for Moneytree. "The CashSolutions card will provide them with the convenience of a check card without the need for a bank account, and since it does not cost them anything to acquire the card, we expect to have a high rate of cardholder adoption."

CashSolutions cardholders will also have the option of upgrading their PIN card to a prepaid Visa(R) debit branded card at Moneytree locations for a one-time, nominal activation fee, according to Miller. Currently, there are no criteria for upgrade qualification in place, such that all customers will be eligible to do so.
