Castle Oil Corporation's senior vice president Louis Romano announced the appointment of. Joseph A. Brady to the company's commercial and institutional building energy sales team.
Prior to joining Castle, Brady founded Brady Enterprises, a company that designed and installed custom bulk material handling equipment.
Brady earned a B.B.A. from Iona College. He serves as an officer of the New York State Guard, regimental pipe major of the 69th Regiment, member of the FBI Marine Corps and Emerald Societies, and member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians. Brady resides in Peekskill, NY
Kaye Scholer LLP announced that Try Hepner has joined its Los Angeles office as counsel in the firm's national real estate practice group.
Hepner was previously senior executive vice president with Westfield Corporation, Inc.
Irv Hepner earned his J.D. magna cum laude from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law and his B.A. in architecture from Yale University. He is a member of the board of directors of Public Counsel, a nonprofit organization that provides legal services to the poor in Los Angeles.
John V. Terrana, Esq., partner at the Mineola-based Forchelli, Curto, Schwartz, Mineo, Carlino & Cohn, LLP (FCSMC&C), has been appointed chair of the Nassau County Bar Association's (NCBA) tax certiorari and condemnation committee.
Terrana has concentrated his legal career in the area of tax certiorari and condemnation, with a combination of municipal and private practice experience. Prior to joining FCSMC&C in 1993, he served as deputy county attorney for Nassau county, practicing in the areas of tax certiorari, condemnation, tax lien litigation, and real estate. He later became the Glen Cove City Attorney, where he was general counsel to all of the City's departments and boards, and to the Glen Cove Community Development Agency and the Glen Cove Industrial Development Agency.
Terrana earned his J.D. from St. John's University School of Law. He is an active member of the New York State and the Nassau County Bar Association.
James Postell, senior vice president for Trammell Crow Company's New Jersey/Connecticut region, has announced the appointment of Kenneth Flynn as vice president. Flynn will be based at the company's Chatham, N.J. office.
Previously,
Flynn served as senior vice president with Grubb & Ellis. Throughout his 14-year career, he has completed more than 300 transactions, representing more than 5 million SF of space. Flynn's clients have included Merrill Lynch, AT&T Capital, and IBM.
Flynn holds a B.A. in chemistry from Columbia University. He is a member of the Morris County Chamber of Commerce.
William B. May Real Estate Inc. announced that Eric L. Babon has been appointed manager of its Beekman-Sutton office. Babon has been a sales agent at the office since 1999.
Prior to becoming a real estate salesperson, Babon was a mortgage broker.
Cushman & Wakefield announced the appointment of Robert A. Ortiz as executive managing director of U.S. operations. He will report to Cushman & Wakefield's president of U.S. operations, Bruce Mosler.
Based in Cushman & Wakefield's downtown Los Angeles office, Ortiz will coordinate the development of short-term and long-term strategic planning for U.S. branch managers and organize brokerage recruitment, training, and development on a national scale. Ortiz was previously executive vice president and national director of brokerage services at Cushman Realty Corp.
Ortiz is involved in many civic and social organizations, including the Central City Association, the Los Angeles Headquarters City Association, the Building Owners & Managemers Association, the Town Hall of California, the Los Angeles World Affairs Council, the UCLA Chancellor's Associates, the UCLA Alumni Association, and the Jonathan Club. He is a graduate of the University of California at Los Angeles, and is a licensed real estate broker in California.
ON-SITE Sales & Marketing has retained Theresa Bentivenga as the sales manager for Chester Cooperatives, a group of cooperatives located in five buildings in lower Westchester county, N.Y.
In her new position, Bentivenga will help direct a central-based sales office and coordinate a sales program for the cooperatives.
Prior to her position with ON-Site Sales & Marketing, Bentivenga worked as a sales agent for Westcroft Realty Corporation. In addition, she owned and managed a Westchester-based contracting business.
William C. Hanson, president of NAI/James E. Hanson, Inc., has been elected to the Hackensack University Medical Center Foundation's board of trustees.
Hanson began his career with NAI/James E. Hanson in 1986 and was named president in 1993. He is a member of the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors and is currently serving as its New Jersey Chapter secretary. He is also a member of the Urban Land Institute, the National Association of Corporate Real Estate Executives, the Boy Scouts of America, the Economic Development Association of New Jersey, the Meadowlands Chamber of Commerce, and the Industrial and Office Real Estate Brokers Association.
Hanson is a graduate of Colgate University.
The REALM announced that John W. Campbell, president of Brookfield Ventures Ltd., has joined the company's board of directors.
Campbell helped establish Brookfield's Eastern Canadian presence and subsequently acted as president of the Canadian management company, Brookfield Management Services, where he led the company's initiative for premium tenant services in the portfolio.
Campbell is on the board of directors of Brook field LePage Johnson Controls, Semprio, Regus Canada, the Office Technology Consortium, and the Toronto Board of Trade.
Ruth McCoy has been named executive director of Brown Harris Stevens' Downtown sales division and on-site building representation.
McCoy will oversee the firm's Fifth Ave. office and a soon to be announced new office in Tribeca. She will directly oversee all Downtown sales and on-site sales activities.
Prior to joining Brown Harris Stevens' Feathered Nest affiliate as executive director in 1999, McCoy served as director of marketing and sales with Two Trees Management Company.
Cushman & Wakefield announced the appointment of Andrew D. Ratner as senior managing director and co-area leader of California operations.
Based in the firm's Los Angeles office, Ratner will work closely with all California branch managers in overseeing operations in the state. Ratner joined Cushman Realty in 1985 and has performed advisory services on such issues as lease negotiation, joint venture structuring, equity leases, etc.
Prior to joining Cushman, he was a management consultant at KPMG Peat Marwick.
Ratner earned a B.A. in economics from UCLA and an M.B.A. in corporate finance from USC. He is a member of the Junior Achievement of Southern California Inc., the Economic Development Committee for the Los Angeles Central City Association, and the UCLA Business Economics Council.
Gage-Babcock & Associates, Inc. announced that Michael J. Rzeznik, P.E., has been named principal and office manager of GBA's Armonk office. His new responsibilities will include oversight of the office's operations in fire protection, life safety, and security consulting.
Previously, Rzeznik served as project engineer for building code and life safety evaluation with the Dulles Center National Air and Space Museum at Dulles Airport.
Rzeznik holds an M.S. in fire protection. engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and a B.S. in physics from the State University of New York at Albany. He is a member of the National Fire Protection Association and the Society of Fire Protection Engineers.
Mark Yeager, president, Gale & Wentworth, reported the promotion of Eugene R. Diaz to chief investment officer. Diaz joined Gale & Wentworth in 1992 and most recently served as senior vice president. He is based at the company's Florham Park, N.J., headquarters.
As CIO, Diaz oversees both departments of the investment division: asset management and investment services and exercises responsibility over aspects of the firm's investment activities.
Diaz received a masters in real estate investment & development from New York University where he frequents as a guest lecturer. He received bachelors of science degrees in both economics and political science from Northwestern University.
Diaz resides in Bergen County, N.J., with his wife and two children. He is an active member of Pension Real Estate Association and Industrial and Office Real Estate Brokers Association.
Insignia/ESG announced that J. Richard Jones has been appointed executive vice president. Jones will be responsible for the company's strategic services program and new business development in the mid-Atlantic region.
Jones joined Insignia/ESG as executive managing director in 1998. Previously, he served as chief executive officer of the Jackson-Cross Company.
Jones received a B.A. in economics from Dickinson College.
