Milstein Brothers Capital Partners announced the appointment of Patricia Goldstein as president of the firm.

Prior to joining Milstein Brothers, Goldstein managed her own real estate investment banking firm. She also served as division executive of Citicorp Global Real Estate, where she was responsible for investment desicions in real estate.


Goldstein is a member of the Urban Land Institute, the Real Estate Roundtable, the New York Retirement Fund, and the National Realty Committee.

ACC Construction Corp. announced that John J. Bennardo has joined the firm as vice president of new business development.

Bennardo has more than 10 years of experience in institutional/retail sales. Prior to joining ACC Construction, he was a corporate executive with Paine Webber Inc.

Bennardo holds a B.A. in business management and policy from the State University of New York at Stone Brook.

ACC Construction Corp. announced that Craig M. Levine has joined the firm as a sales associate.

Prior to joining ACC, Levine served as an account manager with Project One. In that position, he supervised 16 consultants within Deutsche Bank, Sloan Kettering, and Teacher's Insurance and Scholastic Corp.

Levine holds a B.S. in marketing from San Diego State University. He is a member of the USA National Rugby team.

AvalonBay Communities, Inc. announced that David Bellman has been named regional vice president of high-rise construction.

Bellman joined AvalonBay in 1998. Prior to that, he served as senior vice president of construction at Boston Properties. While there, he oversaw the construction of more than 1 million SF of office space.

Bellman holds a degree in engineering administration from George Washington University. He is a member of the New York City Builders Congress.

Wolf, Block, Schorr and Solis-Cohen LLP announced the appointment of Abby Wenzel as managing partner.

Currently, Wenzel serves as co-chair of the structured finance and real estate mortgage and lending practice at the firm.

Wenzel has 15 years of experience in commercial real estate law. She specializes in real estate finance, acquisitions and dispositions, and commercial leasing.

AvalonBay Communities, Inc. announced that William McLaughlin has been named regional vice president of development.

McLaughlin joined AvalonBay in 1994 and has been responsible for al development activities in Connecticut, New York, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island. Prior to that, he served as vice president of Lincoln Property Company.

McLaughlin holds a B.A. in economics from Harvard University. He is a member of Greater Boston Real Estate Board.

AvalonBay Communities, Inc. announced that Richard Morris has been named regional vice president of construction.

Morris joined AvalonBay in 1996. He developed the firm's Construction Procedures Manual, a document that sets the guidelines for AvalonBay's construction group.

Morris holds a B.A. in building construction from West Virginia State College and has completed graduate studies in engineering management at the school.

Massey Knakal Realty Services, Inc. announced that Marco Lala has joined the firm as a managing director.

Lala specializes in investment sales. Prior to joining Massey Knakal, he worked at Marcus & Millichap and WRA Properties, Inc.

Lala holds a B.A. in marketing from Manhattan College. He is a member of the Bronx-Manhattan North Association of Realtors and the author of a book entitled "Deadly Mistakes Building Owners Make When It's Time to Sell." Lala resides in Bronxville, N.Y. with his wife and three children.

Stein White Nelligan announced that Gerard Sullivan has joined the firm as an associate. In his new position, Sullivan will oversee the design, construction, and engineering teams.

Prior to joining Stein White Nelligan, Sullivan served as a senior architect with Ronnete Riley Architect. His recent projects include the design of the Rye Nature Center in Westchester county and the Virgin Atlantic VIP lounge at JFK International Airport.

Sullivan holds a B.A. in environmental science from SUNY Binghamton and an M.A. from the Cooper Union School of Architecture. He also studied architectural design and history at the Royal University of Copenhagen.

Stein White Nelligan Architects announced that Lisa White has joined the firm. White will be responsible for new business development, marketing, and client relations.

Prior to joining Stein White Nelligan, White served as a producer and information architect for Plumb Design.

White holds a B.S. in architecture from the University of Virginia. She has appeared as a guest critic at Parson's School of Design and City College.

AKAM Associates, Inc. announced the appointment of Annette Richardson as president of AKAM Living. In her new position, Richardson will assume responsibility for operating concierge and home maintenance services and oversee information resources for the firm.

Prior to joining AKAM Associates, Richardson served as a special assistant to the chairman of Vivendi Universal.

Richardson resides in New York City.

Weichert Commercial Brokerage; Inc. announced that Arnold L. Barron has been named "Broker of the Year" by the firm.

Barron has been with Weichert Commercial for 16 years. His clients include Chase Manhattan Mortgage Company, EVS Broadcast Systems, and Fleet Bank.

Barron's notable transactions in 2001 included the sale of a 34,000 SF office building in Sparta, N.J., the sale of a 12,000 SF flex building in Berkeley Heights, N.J., and the relocation of Interpath Communications' headquarters to Morris county, N.J.

Stroock & Stroock & Lavan LLP announced that Stanley Parness has joined the firm as a counsel in its real estate practice group.

Parness has 21 years of experience as a Supreme Court justice. Prior to joining Stroock & Stroock & Lavan, he served as a presiding justice of the Appellate Term of the New York State Supreme Court.

During his career, Parness spent 15 years presiding over tax certiorari and condemnation cases.

Brown Harris Stevens announced that Jack Selig has joined the firm as senior vice president of its commercial series division.

Selig has more than 20 years of experience in the real estate industry. Prior to joining Brown Harris Stevens, he served as senior director of Eastern Consolidated Properties, Inc. His clients include Chase Manhattan Bank, Madison Square Garden, and Goldome Bank.

Selig holds a degree from Brown University. He is a member of the Real Estate Board of New York and the National Realty Club.

Dayton Halstead announced that Jim Tompkins has been appointed manager of its commercial property department.

Tompkins has 25 years of experience in real estate law. Prior to joining Dayton Halstead, he managed his own firm, First Suffolk Mortgage.

Tompkins has served in the U.S. Navy.

AvalonBay Communities, Inc. announced that Scott Dale has been appointed vice president of development.

Dale has been with AvalonBay since 1998. Prior to joining the firm, he served as Northeast regional manager for General Motors Worldwide Real Estate.

Dale holds a B.S. in civil engineering from the University of Calgary and an M.A. in business administration from Boston University. He is a member of the Real Estate Investment Advisory Council, the Urban Land Institute, and the Association of Professional Engineers.

AvalonBay Communities, Inc. announced that Janice Miner has been appointed vice president of property operations. Miner specializes in acquisitions, dispositions, and lease-up communities. She holds a degree in-business management from Albertus Magnus College.

Barrett Builders, LLC announced the appointment of Mark E. McKenna as vice president of construction.

Prior to joining Barrett Builders, McKenna served as project manager with Wernert Construction Management, LLC. While there, he was responsible for large scale retail developments.

McKenna holds a B.S. in civil engineering from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
