REMINDER...for Monday (Sept. 15)

Who: The Folsom Police Department and Heritage Community Credit Union are teaming up to test emergency responses to real life robbery scenarios.

What: Four different mock robberies will allow the Folsom Police Department to provide training for Heritage Community Credit Union staff members, as well as Folsom police officers, as they react to simulated life threatening situations, where timing and sound judgment are critical. Heritage Community Credit Union is providing their facilities, and staff members will participate in the roles of victims and hostages. Responding officers and staff will not be informed in advance of the details of the mock robberies or of the tactics to be used by the actor-perpetrators. Upon completion of the exercise, all participants will be debriefed by SWAT team experts.

When: Monday, Sept. 15, 2003 at 6:15 p.m.

Where: Heritage Community Credit Union, Broadstone Plaza: 2791 E. Bidwell Street, Suite 100, Folsom, CA

Why: According to Sergeant Brad Parks of the Folsom PD, "Unfortunately, all of us face the unlikely but very real possibility that we could someday find ourselves in a robbery or hostage situation. These exercises compel the participants and everyone observing to consider their own actions and reactions under the stress and uncertainty of a real life crisis situation.
