HomeCom and Total/1 Pilot Internet Banking for GPS Community Credit Union
ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 28, 1999--
Data Processor Provides HomeCom's Internet Banking
Solution for Credit Union Members
HomeCom Communications, Inc. (NASDAQ: HCOM), a provider of Internet software solutions for the financial industry, announced that Galena Park Schools Community Credit Union (GPSCCU) is in the final testing phase of HomeCom's Personal Internet Banker (PIB) solution, with deployment scheduled for early November.
HomeCom is providing a customized version of PIB, as well as the development and hosting services, for Total/1 clients. The agreement between Total/1 and HomeCom, announced in January, makes HomeCom's Personal Internet Banker available to the 48 credit unions that utilize Total/1's data processing services. HomeCom recognizes revenue from set-up and subsequent monthly maintenance fees.
According to Marc Lafitte, president of Total/1, "The testing process is virtually complete. GPSCCU went from a federal credit union to a state credit union in the summer. The launch of Internet banking is perfectly timed with the change. HomeCom's suite of Internet products and services for credit unions combined with our advanced data processing solution, will provide our credit unions with the tools they need to compete in today's marketplace."
Blake Allen, vice president of financial solutions, said, "All current and future Total/1 customers will now have a fully functional, OFX compliant, Internet banking solution available for their membership. Total/1 is committed to providing its customers with the latest technology and enhanced Internet offerings, and the pilot of GPSCCU is a significant step in its total offering. We continue to be very excited about our strategic partnership with Total/1 and the direction that they are moving with the Internet as a delivery channel. We are currently working with them on a second customer rollout, with several more planned in the coming months. About Total/1
